Questions
How we work with you.
Straight answers on engagement model, delivery cadence, IP, pricing, and what it's actually like to build with us.
With a 30–60 minute call with a senior engineer (not a sales rep). We discuss your goals, current state, constraints, and success metrics. From there we propose a scoped first increment — usually 2–4 weeks — with a concrete deliverable, fixed price, and no long-term commitment.
Both, depending on the phase. Discovery increments and well-defined deliverables are usually fixed-price. Long-running product work is typically a monthly retainer against a rolling scope. We'll recommend whichever model best aligns incentives for your specific phase.
Senior engineers only. The person you talk to in the first call is the person who reviews your pull requests. We don't body-shop juniors behind senior names — the institutional knowledge stays in the team that ships the code.
You own 100% of the code, IP, and infrastructure accounts we touch — from day one. Work-for-hire agreement is signed before any code is written. We retain the right to reference the engagement in our portfolio (anonymized where confidentiality requires).
We're stack-pragmatic but most of our work is in Laravel/PHP, Node/TypeScript, Python (for ML/AI), React/Next.js on the frontend, and PostgreSQL or MySQL for relational data. We'll work in your existing stack if it's healthy and recommend changes when it isn't.
Yes — about half our engagements begin with inheriting an existing system. We start with a 1–2 week audit, document what we find, and propose a stabilization plan before any new features ship. No big-bang rewrites unless the system is genuinely unsalvageable.
Typically 1–2 weeks from signed agreement for a scoped first increment. Larger engagements (3+ engineers) need 3–4 weeks to assemble the right team. We don't over-promise on start dates — it's better to be honest than to start late.
We make it easy. Documentation, code reviews, pairing sessions, and a 30-day handoff period are built into every long engagement. Several of our clients have graduated to fully internal teams — we consider that a success, not a loss.
